Episode 154: Stories That Need to be Told with Dominic Lawson
Jul 26, 2023
More Confident than Ever!
In this episode, we dive into the power of our childhood dreams and how they can shape our adult lives. Have you ever thought about what your 10-year-old self would think of your life today?
Our guest, Dominic Lawson, shares his thoughts on how his childhood and early life experiences have shaped his current career path as an award winning podcast producer.
Dominic is an Army Veteran who was forced to retire early at the age of 22 due to health conditions. While early retirement was a setback, it also led him to where he is today. He is the creator, host and producer of the Black is America Podcast, which highlights little-known African-American figures and stories. His podcast helps tell the story of America through the lens of the African American experience. He also produces two other podcasts for Meadows Behavioral Healthcare.
Dominic's journey shows us that sometimes the events that we initially perceive to have blown us off course end up leading us to right where we need to be.
Now that he’s 40 years old, Dominic has discovered that storytelling through the medium of podcasting is exactly what makes him feel happy, confident, and fulfilled.
I highly recommend the Black is America Podcast and you can also follow Dominic on Instagram.
